MANUAL HANDLING
The Manual Handling Course is designed for all operatives who require the underpinning knowledge and basic techniques in the movement or support of a load by human effort alone.
This will include identification of the specific hazards involved in manual handling and guidance on how to control the risks.

- The physical hazards involved in manual handling including how the back works
- Hierarchy of control for Manual Handling
- Personal Protective Equipment used in Manual Handling
- The safe use of Manual Handling equipment
- The four elements of Manual Handling
- Manual Handling risk assessment
- Planning, Procedure & Techniques
Duration: The course is 1/2-day duration with an advised max training ratio of 8 students to 1 instructor.
Venue: A classroom & suitable training area.
Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their ability to use the correct manual handling techniques when moving various loads.
